I did not know it actually uploads each photo again, I knew it does compare a "checksum" of some sort for each image in a folder against it's list so that duplicates are not added.

If yours is like mine it gets pretty full by the end of the year and I can see that having the uploader re-scanning the main folder each time I would turn it off and back on to be one more background app slowing down my machine's speed and performance. My 2016 folder is broken down into individual monthly folders and then further into each "roll" (days). I hate to turn it off since it continually monitors the folders and picks up any additional photos added - like pictures from my phone or edits to photos already in the directory. In this case, it is a 2016 folder that has sub-folders for each "roll". I do have the uploadr only monitoring folders that have photos in them, not my whole drive. Yes, uploadr only monitors folders you select. It looks as though you can have it monitor more than one folder of your choosing if I am interpreting what I see correctly.

Further, when it uploads the pictures, it somehow figures out that they are the same because it does not replace the existing images or make new albums. I realize that logging out and logging back in rests the uploader database and forces a rescan but none of the files have changed. If I log out of my Flickr account through uploadr (Windows 10 PC) and then log back in, uploadr scans my folders and then uploads almost all of the pictures that were already uploaded! None of them have changed - all I did was log out then log back in. The group banning system seems to be broken
